The Origin of National Boss’s Day This day was created in 1958 by Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at State Farm Insurance Company. She registered the holiday with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to show appreciation for her boss, who also happened to be her father. Haroski chose October 16th, her father’s birthday, as the date for the celebration.
